Original MGB V8 SU carbs mounted on a claw foot manifold. The carbs in the photograph are fitted with aftermarket K&N air filters. The SU carbs are more than enough for a 200bhp plus engine, although the original jets are too lean at full throttle. The manifolding is poor and causes some cylinders to run lean and some to run rich, making the engine sensitive to pinking.
